Von einem erhöhten Standpunkt aus blicken die Betrachtenden in eine Landschaft, in deren Mittelgrund sich ein Gewässer abzeichnet. An dessen Ufer im Vordergrund ist eine kleine Kapelle zu erkennen, auf deren Dachfirst ein Kreuz zu sehen ist. Vor der Architektur sind vereinzelt Figuren zu erkennen, womöglich Bauern oder Wanderer. Entlang des Ufers dann weitere Bauten, darunter ein mit einer Art Palme bekrönter Pavillon und eine weitere Architektur, die in ihrer Form an eine Pyramide erinnert. Dahinter wehrhafte Anlage und im Hintergrund, in den Ausläufern einer Hügelkette, einer Stadtsilhouette mit einem weiteren, imposanten Pavillon.

Die Landschaft mutet exotisch an, so als sei sie eine imaginierte Landschaft in einem fernen Land. Größe: 22,2 cm x 27,8 cm, Druckplatte: 19,1 cm x 25,7 cm, Darstellung: 16,2 cm x 23,5 cm. Vereinzelt blasse Verfärbungen, die Ecken des Blattes sind schwach bestoßen. Die Darstellung wird hiervon nicht beeinträchtigt.

On its bank in the foreground a small chapel can be seen with a cross on its ridge. In front of the architecture, a few figures can be seen, possibly farmers or hikers. Along the shore there are more buildings, including a pavilion crowned with a kind of palm tree and another piece of architecture whose shape is reminiscent of a pyramid. Behind it, a fortified complex and in the background, in the foothills of a chain of hills, a city skyline with another imposing pavilion. The landscape appears exotic, as if it were an imagined landscape in a distant land.
