Pablo Picasso La Femme aux des (Jacqueline) Hand-signed Mourlot Lithograph   Pablo Picasso La Femme aux des (Jacqueline) Hand-signed Mourlot Lithograph
Lithograph after the original drawing by Picasso on black Japon paper. Hand-signed in white lower right, plate signed and dated "Picasso 14.8.58" lower right as well, numbered 77/100 lower left. Printed by Mourlot under the supervision of the artist. Approximately 14.5" x 21" sheet size and 26-1/4 x 32-1/4 framed. Main image is a stock photo (not the actual artwork), as it is hard to photograph without glare. The rest of the images are of the artwork offered. A captivating abstract work full of colors, Pablo Picasso. Presents his beloved Jacqueline as a queen of risk or entertainment depending on how you look at gambling. Rolling dice within her hands, Jacqueline exudes confidence and a sense of ease. With primary colors of yellow, blue, and green Picasso allows for the work to stand out among others in his oeuvre with the playfulness and uncharacteristic free form. Picasso sticks to his fascination with abstracted figures, and as a result, Jacqueline is made up of colorful zig-zagging lines, dots, and geometric shapes. Her eyes appear to face forward, but we see the profile of her nose, confusing the perspective. Picasso has also draw both of her arms as well as the points at which they connect to her body shoulders of a sort. To get a full sense of the motion, Picasso has given us both a profile and frontal view of Jacqueline an amazing talent. Jacqueline was Picassos second wife and greatest muse.

During their 20 year long love affair (that ended with his death), he created more images of her than of any of the other women and muses that had come before her. For the last years of his life, Jacqueline was the only woman that he painted.

The many depictions of her, tender and loving, clearly show the admiration shared between the two. 1958, this color lithograph is hand signed by Pablo Picasso (Malaga, 1881 Mougins, 1973) in pencil in the lower right and is numbered from the edition of 100 in pencil in the lower left.
