Light overall creasing, heavier to bottom right corner and top edge. Short closed tear to blank margin on right side (outisde of plate mark, image unaffected). He was Squire of the hamlet of Brightling, in Sussex, and a politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1780 and 1812. He was a builder of follies, philanthropist, patron of the arts and sciences, and slave owner and a supporter of slavery.

He was sponsor and mentor to Michael Faraday. The mezzotint shows Fuller in three-quarter length, wearing a dark tailcoat over waistcoat, white neckerchief, frill, glove on left hand, boots, and seal on a fob. He is a glove in his right hand while his left elbow rests on a table, next to a letter with lettering J Fuller Esqr. June 10 1806", and a book lettered "Blackston Com Vol 1. With column and curtain behind, and a landscape in the background on the left side.
