This is a scarce vintage silkscreen on linen Tea Towel by Tracey Emin entitled NOT A HAPPY KITTEN. " Underneath the text "NOT A HAPPY KITTEN" is an image of a kitten, and under that text that reads "IN FACT, I'D SAY IT WAS A DOG. Although the edition is not known, these are rarely seen and are very desirable Tracey Emin works. Other than this one - there are few others available in the market - so it's extremely rare indeed. In addition to being delightful - it is also highly collectible. In fine condition, with the original creases and folds exactly as it was offered by the Oxford Museum. This is unframed, but would look terrific framed. Also makes a whimsical and memorable gift. The cloth is thick and a very good quality. This item was produced by Tracey Emin for her exhibition at the Oxford Museum of Modern Art in 2003. It is very collectable, on printed fabric (linen), with the words "Not A Happy Kitten, In Fact, Id Say Its A Dog", with a Cat / Dog printed in the centre. Provenance: Oxford Museum of Art. Renowned for her installation in the Sensation exhibition at The Royal Academy in 1997, she has exhibited extensively internationally. Her work combines the personal, intimate and honest with the bold and scandalous, and encompasses needlework, sculpture, photography, drawing, painting video and installation. In 2007, Emin represented Britain at the 52nd Venice Biennale, was elected a Royal Academician and awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal College of Art, London, a Doctor of Letters from the University of Kent and a Doctor of Philosophy from London Metropolitan University.
Emin was Eranda Professor of Drawing at the Royal Academy Schools from 2011 to 2013. She lives and works in London.
