Edition: 45; signed, numbered and dated in pencil, reverse. American Minimalist sculptor Richard Serra is known for his large-scale sculptures created from industrial materials. However, the artist has also explored the possibilities of printmaking since 1972. His practice in printmaking informs, and is informed by, his work in other mediums.

Ballast III , with its textured surface of ink, conveys the weight and monumentality of the forms in Serra's iconic large-scale sculpture, translated here to a flat, two-dimensional medium.
