This Metropolis 3-sheet is a fine art, hand pulled lithograph of the original movie poster used to advertise the 1927 release of. The iconic poster features an image of False Maria. This lithograph of the original 3-sheet was re-created as a fine art lithograph, in 1997, on a rare antique 19th century hand-pulled printing press in affiliation with the American Film Institute's "100 American Classic Movie Posters". This is the same printing press that was used to create the vintage posters over 100 years ago.

There are only 5 of these antique presses in existence, today. Hand drawn plates are made, one for each colour, and then the plates are hand pulled through the vintage press one colour at a time.

This is the exact same method that was used to create the beautiful vintage movie posters of the past. The result is vibrant rich colours and crisp clean lines. This is a true work of art.

License: Bears the licensee's embossed emblem and signature of the chromist (unobtrusively) printed on this lithograph to differentiate it from the original.
