June 6, 1944 above occupied France... With church bells ringing, paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions descent in and around towns such as Sainte-Mere-Eglise. A short time prior, these young men were students, farm hands, soda jerks, and factory workers. Now, they will fight for their lives and more-- to liberate the oppressed. Soon, across the Atlantic, President Roosevelt will go on the radio and lead the country in a prayer for their safety. He will speak for every citizen and bestow a new title on the young warriors of D-Day. He will call them the pride of our nation. This print is from the Main Edition, limited to only 490 numbered prints, signed by artist Matt Hall along with 2 WWII veterans who fought on D-Day and in the ETO! Comes with it's COA. Signed by: Easy Company veteran Ed Tipper and C-47 pilot Fred Trenck (pictured in foreground signing).
