Hand signed by Martin Parr on the rear of the photograph. In the early 80s, I was teaching in Helsinki and would often go to Stockholm for the weekend on the ferry. The Finnish love a sauna, and this guy is popping out to catch the cool. The Magnum Square Print Sale in partnership with Aperture presents Crossings, an exploration of perspectives on transition and transformation in photography. From 81 Magnum photographers, and 41 artists courtesy of Aperture, these 6x6 inch (15.24 x 15.24 cm) prints were available for five days only: from 9 a. EST on Monday, October 29, until 11:59 p.

In essence, it allows the artists to have creative freedom. Martin Parr (born 23 May 1952) is a British documentary photographer, photojournalist and photobook collector. He is known for his photographic projects that take an intimate, satirical and anthropological[4] look at aspects of modern life, in particular documenting the social classes of England, and more broadly the wealth of the Western world. His major projects have been rural communities (19751982), The Last Resort (19831985), The Cost of Living (19871989), Small World (19871994) and Common Sense (19951999). Since 1994, Parr has been a member of Magnum Photos. He has had around 40 solo photobooks published, and has featured in around 80 exhibitions worldwide including the international touring exhibition ParrWorld, and a retrospective at the Barbican Arts Centre, London, in 2002. In 2019 he had an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, London - it was held in great esteem, with rave reviews from Time Out, Evening Standard, and The Daily Telegraph.
